Honkai: Star Rail 4.4 Patch Breakdown — Fate[UBW] Collab, Himeko Nova & Everything New
Honkai: Star Rail 4.4 Patch Breakdown — Fate[UBW] Collab, Himeko Nova & Everything New
Version 4.4 of Honkai: Star Rail is the patch gacha fans have been waiting for. The headline is the long-awaited Fate/stay night [Unlimited Blade Works] crossover, but 4.4 also closes the Planarcadia story arc, adds a new SP DPS in Himeko Nova, raises the level cap, and overhauls Currency Wars. Version 4.4 launches July 15, 2026, with the Fate collaboration content following on July 24.
This is your complete breakdown of every banner, character, event, and system change — plus a pull-planning section that uses the actual HSR pity math.
Version 4.4 Banner Schedule
Himeko Nova anchors the entire version — she runs across both phases (a full 40 days), which is unusual and signals how central she is to the story.
| Phase | Dates | 5-Stars | 4-Stars |
|---|---|---|---|
| Phase 1 | July 15 → | Himeko Nova, Sparxie, Dan Heng • Imbibitor Lunae, Evernight | Moze, Hanya, Serval |
| Phase 2 | August 5 → | Cerydra, Anaxa, Aventurine | Moze, Hanya, Serval |
| Fate Collab Warp | July 24 → (long-term) | Rin Tohsaka, Gilgamesh | — |
If you've been waiting on Aventurine or Cerydra reruns, Phase 2 is your window. The real pull-defining decision, though, is the Fate collaboration.
Fate/stay night [UBW] Collaboration — The Big Draw
The Fate[UBW] collab is split across two parts. The first wave (Saber and Archer) arrived earlier; Part 2 brings Rin Tohsaka and Gilgamesh and opens the flagship Fate/Star Rail Night event.
Rin Tohsaka — Limited Gacha (5-Star)
- Element: Quantum | Path: Erudition
- A skill-point-based sub-DPS who consumes SP to empower herself and has a special team interaction with Archer. If you pulled Archer in the earlier collab wave, Rin is designed to smooth his rotation and make the duo click. She's the premium pull of the collaboration.
Gilgamesh — Free Unit (5-Star)
- Element: Lightning | Path: Destruction
- Gilgamesh is free — you claim him during the Fate/Star Rail Night event (or you can choose Archer instead if you missed him). He's a Destruction DPS who rewards allies acting consistently and using Ultimates, which means he shines in Ashveil and Mortenax Blade team cores. He also has a special (deliberately tuned-down) synergy with Saber.
Light Cones & Collab Banner Rules
- Flickering Stars — Rin Tohsaka's signature Light Cone.
- I Am As You Behold — Gilgamesh's signature Light Cone, and it's free if you complete 200 total warps during Version 4.4 (rolls on any banner count, not just the collab banner).
- The Fate Collab Warp has no announced end date and shares its pity counter with the earlier Saber/Archer banner — so if you're mid-pity from that warp, your progress carries over.
Pull Planning: What the Fate Collab Actually Costs
This is where a probability calculator earns its keep. HSR's Character Warp uses these rates:
- Base 5-star rate: 0.6% per warp
- Soft pity begins: pull 72 (rates climb sharply after this)
- Hard pity: pull 90 (guaranteed 5-star)
- Featured 50/50: if you win the 50/50, you get the banner unit; lose it and you're guaranteed the featured unit on your next 5-star
On average, expect a featured 5-star somewhere around 80–90 warps if you've won the 50/50, or up to ~160–180 warps for a guaranteed featured unit if you lost the previous one. At 160 Stellar Jade per warp, budgeting for a guarantee means roughly 25,000–29,000 Stellar Jade per copy. Two limited Fate units (Rin plus a Gilgamesh eidolon, or two featured pulls) can easily consume a full patch worth of F2P income — so decide your priorities before the collab warp opens on July 24.
Our take: Grab the free Gilgamesh (or Archer) no matter what. Rin is the premium pull if you want the collab duo to function at peak — her SP engine is what makes Archer's kit sing. If you're F2P and tight on jade, prioritizing Himeko Nova (full-version banner, story-critical) over chasing Rin dupes is the safer play.
New Character: Himeko Nova (SP)
Himeko Nova is the patch's other major addition and the emotional core of the story climax.
- Element: Fire | Path: Erudition
- An SP DPS with Astral Express synergy and a new Assist Skill mechanic plus a mech deployment. She lays down a Toughness-breaking field and is notably F2P-friendly — she doesn't demand a stacked team to perform. Because her banner runs the entire version, you have a long window to collect her.
Story: Trailblaze Vs. Asat Pramad, Climax
Version 4.3 ended on the cliffhanger of Asat Pramad raiding Planarcardia. Version 4.4 — the mission "In Ravages Does the Whistle Sound" — delivers the conclusion:
- Planarcardia is in complete turmoil and destruction.
- Himeko is central: the arc ties back to a secret she's kept for 15 years and Asat Pramad's past connection to the Astral Express.
- The trailer teases a possible Stellaron explosion.
Two new zones open alongside the mission: Desolate Maw's Demonhold and Fallen Star's Cradle.
New Weekly Boss: Asat Pramad (Lord Ravager)
The version's new endgame boss is a showcase fight:
- Three forms with escalating mechanics.
- Dice-roll buff distribution — each clear can play differently depending on the buffs rolled.
- A memorable attack where he grabs and throws the Astral Express.
- Drops the trace material High Hopes of the Falsely Enlightened (via The Comedy of War / Echo of War).
New Planar Ornaments
Two relic ornament sets join the roster:
- Fallen Star Anchorage
- Cosmic Life Sciences Institution
These pair with the new boss drops to round out build options for Himeko Nova and the Fate units.
Fate/Star Rail Night — The Flagship Event
This is the collab's centerpiece and it leans hard into Fate flavor:
- Noble Phantasm card combat — servants unleash their NPs via battle cards, an FGO-style mechanic adapted to HSR's turn system. Expect nostalgic NPs like Medea's Rule Breaker.
- Master/Servant duels where HSR enemies wield Fate Noble Phantasms.
- Claim your free Gilgamesh (or Archer) here.
- A new Fate-only Bond shared by Rin, Gilgamesh, Saber, and Archer grants Noble Phantasm effects as it upgrades.
Other events running during 4.4:
- Antigraft Brickbuster — a tower-building event.
- Gift of Odyssey — daily log-in rewards plus free warps.
- Planar Fissure — double Planar Ornament drops.
- Garden of Plenty — double Calyx material drops.
Currency Wars Expansion
The roguelike mode gets a meaningful update:
- Level cap raised to 170.
- New difficulty tiers added.
- New participants: Himeko Nova, Mortenax Blade, Rin Tohsaka, and Gilgamesh.
- The Fate-only Bond system carries into Currency Wars, letting the collab units unleash Noble Phantasms there too.
Version 4.4 Store & Cosmetics
- Sparxie Outfit "Candy-Coated Waves" — available at a discount in the in-game store.
- Limited-time super value bundles.
- A new pet, new Trailblaze Fashion, and additions to the Gift of Stardust Exchange Shop.
Quality-of-Life Updates
- Quick Level Up for characters and Light Cones — cut down on the material-grinding clicks.
- Achievement system optimized — unlocked achievement rewards can be claimed instantly.

Should You Pull? Quick Verdict
- F2P priority 1: Claim the free Gilgamesh or Archer during Fate/Star Rail Night — zero jade cost, no reason to skip.
- F2P priority 2: Himeko Nova. Story-critical, F2P-friendly, full-version banner = maximum time to collect her.
- Premium pull: Rin Tohsaka if you want the collab duo to peak and have the jade bank (budget ~25K–29K per copy).
- Light Cone: Don't roll specifically for Gilgamesh's signature — you get it free at 200 total warps during 4.4, which most active players will hit naturally.
Version 4.4 is dense, and the Fate collaboration makes it one of the biggest patches of the year. Decide your jade budget before July 24, claim your free servant, and enjoy the Holy Grail War.
